Production & BOM

Assemble finished goods from components using a bill of materials.

Bill of Materials (BOM)

Materials → Bill of Materials (/materials/bom) — define an assembly: a parent item plus component lines with the quantity of each consumed per unit produced.

Production

Materials → Production (/materials/production) — schedule a run against a BOM.

  1. New Order — choose the BOM/finished item and quantity.
  2. Post — the run issues the component raw materials and receives the finished goods into stock, all written to the stock ledger.

Stock must be available

Posting a production order consumes components from stock — make sure the inputs are on hand (and valued) first.
