Accounting (Ledger)¶
The accounting core: a hierarchical chart of accounts, double-entry journal vouchers, accounting periods, and the consolidated master ledger.
Chart of Accounts¶
Open Accounting → Chart of Accounts (/app/accounting/coa). The chart is a tree of accounts
grouped by type (Asset, Liability, Equity, Revenue, Expense).
- Seed Standard COA creates a Nepal-standard set of accounts on an empty book.
- New account — set the parent, code, name, type, and normal balance side (Debit/Credit).
- Only leaf (postable) accounts receive entries; header accounts roll up their children's balances. An account with postings can't be deleted.

Journal Vouchers¶
Open Accounting → Journal Vouchers (/app/accounting/journal). A voucher is a balanced set of
debit/credit lines.
- New JV — add a narration, entry date, and lines. Total debits must equal total credits (the system enforces it).
- Save as DRAFT, then Post. Once POSTED a voucher is immutable.
- To undo a posted voucher, create a reversal that links back to the original.
Each voucher records its source (Manual, Invoice, Payment, Payroll, …) so you can trace where an entry came from. Filter by status (DRAFT / POSTED / REVERSED), reference, or date.

Accounting Periods¶
Open Accounting → Periods (/app/accounting/period) to manage fiscal years and periods and
lock a period once it's closed, preventing back-dated entries and protecting the audit trail.
Periods follow Nepal's fiscal year (BS, mid-July to mid-July).
Master Ledger¶
The master ledger (/app/account/payments/master-ledger) is the consolidated record of every
debit and credit with a running balance — the backbone for VAT/TDS audit and bank reconciliation.
Filter by account, date, or transaction type.
Where entries come from
Most ledger entries are posted automatically by Invoicing, Payments, Refunds, and payroll. You'll mostly create manual JVs for adjustments and openings.
