Overtime¶
Capture extra hours worked, approve them, and pay them at the right premium — or grant time off in lieu. Overtime is separate from the roster (Attendance & Roster covers shifts and punches); this page is the approval-and-pay workflow.

Log overtime¶
- Click New and select the Employee and Date.
- Enter OT Minutes (e.g.
120). - Pick the OT Type, which sets the premium multiplier:
- Weekday (1.5×)
- Rest Day (2×)
- Holiday (2×)
- Choose how it's paid under Compensation:
- Cash — paid on the payslip.
- Off in Lieu — banked as compensatory time off instead of cash.
- Combination — part cash, part time off.
- The Compensation Amount (NPR) is auto-calculated from the employee's rate × minutes × multiplier. Submit to send it for approval.
Often raised from attendance
Overtime is frequently flagged during attendance reconciliation. You can also enter it here directly when it's pre-approved or tracked manually.
Approve¶
Each entry shows the Employee, Date, Minutes, Type, Compensation method, Amount, and Status. Review and Approve (or reject) it. Approved Cash overtime is folded into the next payroll run; Off in Lieu adds to the employee's compensatory balance.
Shift configuration¶
Overtime multipliers depend on whether a day is a weekday, rest day, or holiday — which comes from the employee's shift and the holiday calendar. Configure shifts under Setup → Shifts (see Workspace Setup).
