Custody Incidents¶
When something goes wrong with a held item — loss, damage, unauthorised access — raise an incident and work it through to a resolution.

Open Custody → Incidents (/app/custody/incidents).
Report¶
Report Incident (/app/custody/incidents/new) — file a claim against a chain: type
(Loss, Damage, Other), description, and any references (e.g. the linked job application).
Verify¶
An investigator opens Verify (/app/custody/incidents/{id}/verify) and classifies the fault:
- Operator fault
- System fault
- Third party
- Force majeure
…and suggests a resolution path.
Approve & resolve¶
A manager opens Approve (/app/custody/incidents/{id}/approve) and sets the resolution — e.g.
Replacement, Refund of service fee, or Reimbursement — and authorises any claim. The
incident detail keeps the full timeline and notes.
Tied to the chain
Incidents reference the custody chain, so the item's history shows the incident and its outcome alongside the normal hand-off events.
